Stationary Donation Drive and Nirmal Jyoti NGO Visit
DATE: 2nd April 2022
Venue: Nirmal Jyoti Convent, Vasant Kunj
"The more you give, the more you receive."
We at the Mercurian times believe in giving back to the society. With the wrap of Evoon 4.0, We organised a stationary donation drive in collaboration with Nirmal Jyoti NGO which was headed by the website development department with heads Mrudula and Aditi and volunteered by Ayushi, Jozy, Rabika, Shriya and Sowmya. TMT's firm belief in the power of the pen to transform the world was embodied in this drive. The collection and donation of stationery items to the underprivileged children of the NGO was done with the hope that the voices of this section of the society can be raised louder and heard better. The pens, pencils and notebooks were symbolic of the faith that the society puts in the enlightenment that only education can provide.
Nirmal Jyoti is a charitable society for mentally disabled children. The drive consisted of collecting stationary items from the students in college followed by a visit to the Ngo on 2nd April. We had planned some fun games and activities for the children. We had organised various drawing and colouring activities. We also taught them how to make paper planes and flew them together! Towards the end, we all sang rhymes and songs. The excitement, enthusiasm and Joy in the children's eyes filled us with happiness! Spending time with them made our day. The joy of giving is truly unreal✨🤍
Special thanks to the NGO's managing team for allowing TMT to conduct the Stationery Drive and interact with its residents!
